Xiao Chu is one yin line holding five yang: the soft temporarily restrains the firm. Dense clouds, no rain — the clouds are heavy but the rain is short by a little. This is the true state of many endeavors: eighty percent of conditions ready, the last twenty percent impossible to hurry. The easiest mistake is to read almost as impossible, and walk away.

Soft mastering hard works by duration, not intensity — like a thin cord around an ox: no single instant can hold it, yet the cord never loosens. While your store is small, do not rush to test the limit. Save what must be saved, and the clouds will fall in their own time.
