Contemplation

Wind passing over the earth — contemplation.

The wind crosses the groundContemplation

Only long seeing sees.

Guan is wind over the earth — reaching everywhere, leaving no trace. Watching is not a glance; it is sustained regard. The lines grade it: the boy's view, the peek through a crack, the view of one's own life. Children watch for spectacle; a crack shows fragments; in the end you watch yourself — observation always curves back to the observer.

Being watched is also part of this hexagram. How you appear is a demonstration that requires no preaching. What actually influences others is never the position statement but the behavior seen day after day. So Guan trains the eye — and trains your own surface.

Practice Choose a person or a thing; observe for three days, recording without judging. Conclusions wait until day four.
In the four domains

01Career & decisions

Step back and watch before you act. Seeing the whole field — who rises, who falls, and why — beats another sprint this week.

02Love & bonds

Observe your relationship as if from a tower: what pattern repeats, what request hides under the complaint. Insight arrives for the still.

03Wealth & resources

Review the numbers without touching them. Contemplation before adjustment shows you which flows to feed and which to dry up.

04Body & mind

Meditation or slow walking, twenty minutes daily. Watching your own wind and water is the cheapest upgrade available.

Timing & action

Be the wind above the earth this week: travel, observe, take in guests and ideas — but postpone the big move until the view completes itself.
