Hiding the lightDarkening of the Light

When you cannot shine, first steady yourself.

Ming Yi is light wounded — fire below, earth above, brightness pressed into the ground. In surroundings not your own, brilliance only stings. Ming Yi does not teach hiding out; it teaches folding the light into your own body — keep working without showing off; keep believing without announcing. All who later truly shone spent long seasons in unlit places first.

The line of Jizi: the sage of a falling dynasty feigns madness and hides his light in the bone. Ming Yi is not about extinguishing but about another way of keeping. Light trampled on the surface moves underground; when the soil loosens, it comes up on its own.

Practice Find the place that lately feels wrong — an organization, a mood, a relationship. Today do one small unannounced thing: keep your rhythm, do not explain yourself.
In the four domains

01Career & decisions

Keep your brightness hidden while the wrong people hold the room. Work excellently and quietly; wound the light deliberately and it stays lit.

02Love & bonds

Guard the intimacy you have; do not demand public proof in hostile weather. Warmth in private outlasts display in the open.

03Wealth & resources

Do not flash the wins. Keep the balance sheet boring, the plans unannounced, and the cash positions dull and safe.

04Body & mind

Protect the inner flame with discipline: fewer inputs, warmer routines, one trusted confidant. The light is injured less when it is not paraded.

Timing & action

Dim the visibility, keep the substance. This is a season for patient harmlessness — the fire in the belly survives every dark government.
