These questions come up most often. A quick look may save you a letter.

My reading or chart result was not saved — can you recover it?

Sorry — we cannot. Every calculation on this site happens inside your own browser, No server, no database, so your input and results never leave your device, and there is nothing for us to recover.

If your browser's local storage is still intact, reopening the original page may show your last input; once browser data is cleared it is gone for good. We suggest screenshotting anything important.

Why do two casts on the same question differ?

That is normal. Divination values a sincere first ask — the tradition says the first oracle answers, repeated asking is disrespect. The advice is one question per cast, take the first result, and put your attention into reading it rather than re-rolling.

Can you check my BaZi or pick a date for me?

We do not offer one-on-one fortune-telling services. Chart results are generated by an algorithm following almanac rules, for study and reference; for date selection, marriage matching, naming, and similar decisions, consult a professional you trust.

Found an error, a broken image, or a dead link — how do I report it?

Send us the page URL and a description of the problem. A screenshot plus your device and browser (e.g. iPhone Safari / Windows Chrome) speeds up diagnosis enormously.

Do I need permission to republish or quote site content?

The I Ching texts, hexagram names, sequences, and trigram symbols are public heritage — anyone may quote them freely. Our original readings, illustrations, layouts, and code do need permission — a small quote with attribution and a link back is usually fine; wholesale republication or commercial redistribution, please email first.

How long until I hear back?

Usually within 48 hours, most often the same weekday. This site is maintained by one person; holidays and time zones may delay things. After a silent week, the email probably landed in spam or was filtered — resend, or add Follow-up to the subject.

What to include

The more specific your letter, the faster the reply. Different types of letters benefit from different details.

  • Page URL: The full URL of the page where the problem occurred (for example, a hexagram page under /library);
  • Where it appears: The heading, which paragraph of the body text, or a screenshot with the spot circled;
  • Your source: Which edition, which classic, or which reference work you are relying on.
About a hexagram reading: The Yijing has always carried many commentaries, so differing views are normal. We verify factual errors carefully (hexagram order, hexagram names, the original text of the line statements, calendar calculations), but we stay open to differences of interpretation — every lineage has its own reasoning.

  • Environment: Your device (iPhone 15 / MacBook / Xiaomi …), browser (Safari / Chrome / Edge) and approximate OS version;
  • Description: The error text, a screenshot, or the console error (if you know how to open it).

  • Verification: The minimum information needed to confirm your identity (please send only what is required — no ID photos or other sensitive documents).

Since this site never stores your personal information on a server, clearing your browser's local storage will in almost every case complete the deletion. See the Privacy Policy for details.
