Privacy Policy
Iching Chart (the Site) is maintained by an individual operator and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. This policy explains how we handle information related to you and the rights you hold under the Personal Information Protection Law and other applicable statutes.
01Local-first by design
Local-first processing
All computations — casting, the sixty-four hexagram library, BaZi charts, and the compass — complete locally in your browser. What you type never leaves your device. One exception: if you use the share-link feature on the chart page, the chart data you entered (name, birth date and time, place) is embedded in the link's URL — anyone with the link can see it, and opening such a link sends that URL to our hosting provider, where it may appear in access logs.
We do not collect, upload or store your name, date of birth, or any other personal information.No back-end server, no database.
In one sentence: Your hexagram is yours — we cannot see it.
02What we do not actively collect
Information we do not collect
We do not actively collect the following:
- Identity information: name, ID numbers, postal address, contact details;
- Sensitive device permissions: precise location, contacts, photo library, microphone, camera;
- Payment information: the site currently sells nothing and charges nothing;
- Account information: the site has no account system and requires no registration or login;
- Biometric data and any special-category sensitive personal information.
03Local storage (localStorage)
Browser local storage
We may use browser local storage to remember your interface language, theme preference, or recently viewed hexagrams. This data stays on your own device and never syncs to any server.
You can clear site data in your browser settings at any time; once cleared it takes effect immediately and cannot be recovered.
04Logs, cookies & third-party services
Logs, cookies & third parties
The site itself sets no tracking cookies; the only cookies it may set are the analytics cookies described below. The following third-party services may process limited technical data under their own policies:
- Hosting and delivery (Cloudflare Pages): For security and abuse prevention, access logs may be recorded, such as IP address, User-Agent and access timestamps.
- Fonts (Google Fonts): When fonts load, your browser sends a request to the font service, which may log your IP and User-Agent.
- Advertising (if enabled): This site may use advertising services such as Google AdSense. These may use cookies or similar technologies to serve personalized ads; you can turn personalization off in your browser settings or in Google ad settings.
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4): Google Analytics 4 measures page views and traffic sources using first-party cookies (_ga). GA4 does not log or store your IP address, and data is retained according to Google's standard settings. You can opt out via Google's official browser add-on.
We promise that we never sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party.

Children's privacy
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information. If you are a guardian and believe a child provided personal information while using the site, email us below and we will delete it promptly.
06Your rights and choices
Your rights & choices
Under applicable law (including the Personal Information Protection Law of the PRC), you hold rights of access, consultation, copying, correction, deletion, and withdrawal of consent regarding your personal information.
Since the site never stores your personal information server-side, in most cases simply clearing your browser's local storage completes deletion. If you believe we hold information about you or wish to exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

Security & retention
We do not retain your personal information, so there is no retention period. Third-party services' data retention and security practices follow their own privacy policies. We take reasonable technical measures to protect the site's availability and integrity, but no online service can be guaranteed absolutely disruption-free.

We may revise this policy at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the Last updated date at the top of this page and, where necessary, announced prominently on the site. Continuing to use the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Description of service
The Site offers tools and content based on the I Ching and traditional Chinese metaphysics — compass, hexagram library, doodle casting, BaZi charts, and related readings — for cultural learning, philosophical reflection, and self-examination.

Hexagram readings and chart results do not constitute a prediction of the future, a promise or a guarantee, nor do they constitute advice in medicine, psychology, law, finance, investment, career or any other professional field.
Do not base medical decisions or changes to medication, major financial outlays, legal action, employment changes, or similar significant decisions on the Site's content. For physical or mental health, legal, and financial matters, consult a qualified professional.
Our position: We do not predict the future; we only help you see the shape of the present a little more clearly. The final judgment, and the responsibility, always remain in your hands.
04Acceptable use & prohibited conduct

When using the Site, you must not:
- Use automated tools to scrape, mirror, or bulk-download the Site's content;
- Reverse-engineer or crack the Site, or interfere with its normal operation;
- Inject malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, or mount any form of attack;
- Impersonate the Site or its operator, or use its content for unlawful purposes;
- Reproduce, republish, or commercially redistribute the Site's content in bulk without written permission.

The Site's original copy, layouts, illustrations, code, and visual design belong to its operator and are protected by applicable law.
The I Ching texts, hexagram names, sequences, and trigram symbols are public heritage, free for anyone to quote. When quoting our original readings or images, attribute the source and link back to the original page.

Some pages on this site may contain affiliate links to third-party sites (such as Amazon or Etsy). When you make a purchase through these links, we may receive a commission, but this never costs you any extra fee.

The Site is provided as is, without warranty of uninterrupted, delay-free, or error-free operation. The parties shall first seek friendly settlement; failing that, either party may sue in a competent people's court where the operator is located.
